Jean is an award-winning author of her children's picture book, Kind Soup, regional cookbook, The Big Sky Bounty Cookbook-Local Ingredients and Rustic Recipes, and contributing author to All God’s Creatures-60 days of Devotions for Animal Loving Kids.
Her most recent release Life on the Ranch with Banjo is hot off the presses and ready for readers to join in Banjo's ranch adventures. Published by Quakie Press, Jean looks forward to sharing Banjo's stories focused on a western lifestyle rooted in agriculture involving virtue based principle and growth mindset impacts.
The Big Sky Bounty Cookbook is published with Arcadia Publishing and The History Press as a part of their American Palate series with Chef Barrie Boulds, and was released in July 2018. It was awarded a National Indie Excellence Award for Best Regional Cookbook in 2019 and was a finalist for Book of the Decade for the Serious Writers Book Awards.
Her children’s picture book, Kind Soup, was released October 2019 and All God’s Creatures, was released September 2021 with Little Lamb Books. Kind Soup was been awarded a Firebird Award for Best Children's Religious Book, Serious Writers-Book of the Year for 2020, Best Christian Children's Fiction book of 2019 with Best Indie Book Awards, and Story Monsters Approved 2019 Book Award winner for best 'Making a Difference' children's book.
Jean holds her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Colorado State University, Montana CTE educator, and has been a freelance writer and weekly columnist for over15 years with Western Ag Reporter covering a host of topics. Her weekly children's column is called Life on the Ranch with Banjo. You can also find her feature articles published in Distinctly Montana magazine, Yellowstone Valley Woman and Raised in the West Magazine at Jean's Cuisines page.
Jean lives near the Beartooth Mountains in scenic southern Montana on her small farm with her family and the many critters that give her lots of fuel for all her writing.
